Established in 1995, VATSALYA is a Uttar Pradesh-based
organization working to improve the health and well-being of women and children.
Starting with a focus on preventing female foeticide and promoting the PC-PNDT Act, it
now also works on issues like nutrition, sanitation, child rights, education, and
adolescent development. VATSALYA emphasizes community involvement, awareness, and
capacity building to bring about lasting, grassroots-level change.
VATSALYA strengthens Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) to
foster local leadership and sustainable impact. Through research, advocacy, training,
and collaboration with government schemes, it ensures effective programme delivery. By
organising workshops, awareness drives, and engaging communities, VATSALYA envisions a
society where women and children are safe, informed, and empowered to lead better lives.
VATSALYA continues to inspire positive change by promoting
equality, dignity, and empowerment for women and children through community engagement,
awareness programmes, and partnerships that strengthen grassroots initiatives and
sustainable development efforts.
