Duration: Six Months, 2024, Location: Lucknow and Barabanki Districts, Uttar Pradesh
Millions of Indian girls and women face challenges with menstrual hygiene due to low awareness and societal taboos, affecting their health and education. Disparities persist, especially among Scheduled Castes and Tribes. Government efforts have been made, but gaps remain in access to hygienic practices and infrastructure. Key Beneficiaries:3200 Adolescent Girls (schools and communities), Community Women, SHG Women, Frontline Workers (ASHA, teachers), Government Functionaries. The project Goal is to Create an environment where every girl and woman is informed about safe menstrual practices, has access to necessary infrastructure, and feels empowered to manage menstrual health with dignity and its key Objectives are:
1. Awareness: Educate girls and women about hygienic menstrual practices and health.
2. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with teachers, PRIs, and frontline workers to support awareness and infrastructure.
3. Community Environment: Host rallies, melas, IEC activities, and media exposure to promote open discussion and improved menstrual hygiene.
Women with Wings aims to enhance menstrual hygiene management in Lucknow and Barabanki by improving education, infrastructure, and community support.
