Saksham supported by Azim Premji Foundation
The Saksham project, initiated by the Azim Premji Foundation, targets Barabanki district in Uttar Pradesh, focusing on two blocks: Masauli and Sarauli Gauspur. This region is characterized by a significant proportion of minority and Other Backward Class populations. Its main Goal is: To enhance the health, educational, and safety opportunities for adolescent girls in Barabanki district through the following objectives:
1. Collectivization and Empowerment: Train and organize girls into groups to foster self-confidence, leadership skills, and a sense of agency.
2. Access to Rights and Entitlements: Equip girls with knowledge about their rights, entitlements, and available resources.
3. Continuing Education: Support and motivate girls to pursue further education and skill development.
4. Safety and Support: Address issues of violence and exploitation, providing a safer environment and supportive networks for girls.
By focusing on these specific areas, Saksham aims to create a sustainable impact on the lives of adolescent girls, paving the way for their improved health, education, and overall well-being.
