Saksham

Saksham is a girl-led initiative in 72 villages across 24 Gram Panchayats of Masauli and Sarauli Gauspur blocks in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. It aims to empower adolescent girls through group formation, peer leadership, and safe spaces called Adolescent Friendly Corners (AFCs). The program focuses on building girls’ awareness of health, education, gender rights, and access to entitlements, while also promoting vocational skills and self-employment. Key activities include training peer leaders, organizing health camps, running campaigns against child marriage, forming parent support groups, and activating child protection committees (VLCPCs). Saksham envisions a safe and enabling environment where girls can lead change in their communities.
