Adult Literacy Program
Supported by Shiv Nadar Foundation
The adult literacy program is an adult literacy initiative supported by the Shiv Nadar Foundation. The primary objective of the project is to provide basic literacy and numeracy skills to non-literate individuals aged 15 years and above.
Under this project, learners are taught basic Hindi reading and writing, foundational mathematics, picture and symbol recognition, and other essential literacy skills. The aim is to enable them to meet their daily educational and functional literacy needs independently, such as reading simple information, performing basic calculations, understanding documents, and completing everyday tasks that require literacy.
The project is being implemented in 17 villages across 5 Gram Panchayats in Sakran Block, Sitapur District, Uttar Pradesh.
The project aims to train 3,000 learners through 200 learning batches, with 15 learners in each batch. These batches are conducted regularly to provide structured and effective learning opportunities for adult learners.
