Award

Vatsalya was initially set up as a “Resource Centre for Health” in 1995 with the objective of checking the mounting imbalances in the health sector, especially in the rural and slum areas of UP with the help of advocacy & community mobilization. Dr. Neelam Singh an alumni of King George Medical College was practicing as consultant gynecologist since 1985, was perturbed by the increasing cases of female foeticide .The founders recognized the right of every citizen to lead a healthy life in a healthy environment; and the need to improve the capacities of the individuals and communities , to improve the quality of their life and enhance their awareness and health in a comprehensive frame considering the physiological and pyschological aspects as a factor of the environment.

Over the years we have established ourselves as the link towards mobilization of health centres for the betterment of civil society.( Award & Recognition:)
